The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the East
Sauron, “the Deceiver”, was seduced by Morgoth before the making of Arda. He was the greatest of Aulë’s People and the most powerful of the Maiar. Skilled in all crafts and a master of diplomacy, he proved a formidable servant of the Black Enemy. After Morgoth’s imprisonment in the void, Sauron became the chief enemy of the Free Peoples of Middle-earth. He is responsible for Downfall of Númenor and helped forge the Rings of Power, which he secretly linked to his own creation, the One.
Sauron was defeated in the Last Alliance. His physical form destroyed and his spirit fled into the wastes of the world. Though he has vanished, the hurts he inflicted on the world still linger and his servants continue to make war upon Men, Elves, and Dwarves.
